Shane Keena Photography | About

Born and raised in Southern California, my childhood was spent exploring the intertidal regions of Orange County’s amazing beaches. I have a BFA in studio art from OTIS College of Art and Design and received my MFA in fine arts from Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Crafts.

I’ve been drawn to making images for years and in the past eight years have been focusing on wildlife photography with an emphasis on marine mammals. Currently, I am the staff photographer for the global citizen science organization Earthwatch and Dr. Lei Lani Stelle of the University of Redlands and her ongoing projects in both Southern California and remote British Columbia. I also work with Dana Wharf Whale Watch in Dana Point, CA. who assists and collaborate with Dr. Stelle's current research.

To learn more about Dr. Stelle's research and GIS mapping projects check out the following sites.
